We run two hour photography sessions based on a photography theme/technique/style and they take place in various locations in Albury .

  • New to photography? We also run a popular 3 hour Beginners Guide to Photography Class once a month. And once in a while we will run special niche 3 hour classes, for example, Astrophotography - so do subscribe to our newsletter to know when the next on is!

  • Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to keen amateurs. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

It was great to be able to attend a weekday/night session. Weekends are often taken up with sport/kids/ family events I really liked Brenton?s way of providing information and suggestions at appropriate times during the night. I feel like I learned a lot

I really enjoyed the black and white photography class. It really does change everything when you remove the colour from your viewfinder. It's amazing how much emotion and texture you can add to your photos. Brenton is very knowledgeable, patient and good at explaining things. Highly recommended.

I really enjoyed the training, Andrew put information in a format that was easy to understand. With the small group, Andrew had time to spend with each of us helping understand our cameras. I feel much more comfortable getting off Auto and onto manual!!!

This photograph of a budding magnolia was taken on the morning of August 26, 2025 on a walk through the Botanical Gardens in Albury. It was taken with my iPhone 14 in portrait mode set to 1.5, the brightness turned down and colour saturation up slightly. I was drawn to the way the light of the morning captured the softness of the bud.

    Title or Location: Little Spider
This little spider was captured hanging out amongst my desert rose leaves late one afternoon while watering the garden! Photo was captured on my nikon D750, using macro tube extensions. Settings were F5.0, iso640, 1/160s. Editing included slightly increasing exposure and contrast, enhancing shadows and blacks, very slight increase in vibrancy and saturation and a smidge of dehaze and clarity.

While studying photography at Wodonga TAFE last year, I found I enjoyed macro photography and would go looking for all the awesome night creatures, flowers and take photos. It took a while to figure out how to get a clear image and this was one of my best that I found in the garden. I used the 5D mark iv with a godox v1c set at 16. F8 1/125ISO 400. A couple of small distractions were edited out and did a little bit of sharpening and some targeted contrast adjustments.

I was looking for Whimbrels, or other migratory shore birds when I spotted this common tern flying around. At some point it dove and caught a fish. I instinctively aimed my camera and took a few pictures before flying away.

Steam was really enshrouding the main pool of Grand Prismatic, so I looked for other compelling ways to capture images. This image features some of the sinter terraces and cooler water thermophiles thriving around the central pool perimeter.
